Watch out!

by JoeZ at Citysearch

I came to this place (on Speedway) because they appeared to be reputable, qualified, and fair. I WON'T be returning, and this is why: They figured out the problem after spending an hour on it (luckily, free!), and offered me an out-the-door quote to get it fixed. I thought it seemed way over-priced so I did my research online and took my vehicle back to get a second opinion. The guy claimed that they install very high quality parts, with a warranty, hence the price. The rebuild of this part was to cost way more than a brand new part (weird, I thought). I instead went to Simmons 4x4 in south Tucson. They gave me a quote of a little more than a third of the cost of Aastro! They performed the work the NEXT day and actually charged me less than the quote! This saved me nearly $500 on a fairly simple fix. I'm pretty sure AAstro takes advantage of those who know little about vehicles or cost (I was given the quote before demonstrating my knowledge). DO YOUR HOMEWORK, AND GET A SECOND QUOTE!!! CHANCES ARE, YOU WILL GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Great service...VERY HONEST

by Leah Green at Citysearch

I have been meaning to write this for a couple of months now because I had such a wonderful experience with Aastro Transmission. I live in San Diego and drove to Tucson for my grandma's 90th birthday, As i pulled into town, my transmission went out on my 2003 Cadillac CTS. I was at a loss on finding a repair shop. It was Friday at 6pm. I found Aastro on the recommended service provider list for AAA and had my vehicle towed there 1st thing Sat. morning. I had to be back at work Monday. My transmission line was broken and all the fluid had drained from the system. Aastro had the vehicle running again by noon on Saturday. They were honest and did not try to do additional work on my car when they knew I was DESPERATE!!

I highly recommend them!

i took my sisters acura to a garage(i wont mention the name) because it was shifting very hard. i was told it needed a transmission rebuild and it would cost 3700.00 i try to help my sister out.....but 3700.00 is too much. a friend told me to take it to james at the aastro on speedway for a second opinion. james found a electronic switch under the shifter covered in sticky soda that she had spilled a few weeks earlier. it cost 200.00 to fix the car and get my sister back on the road. i could not be more pleased and i will send all my friends and family to aastro!!! thanx james

Out of towner

My travels took me through Tuscon Az and to my surprise I had a major issue with my cars transmission. Having traveled several hundred miles and having many more miles to go I called on Aastro to help me. They not only serviced my car they helped a stranded family find food and shelter for us. Their very helpful manager J.Houpt took it upon himself to go the extra mile for his customer. It is with equal enthusiasm I recommend Aastro Transmission and Auto Repair

5302 E Speedway Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85712 to anyone in need of great car care.

I have been going to James for 10 yrs and had my daughters truck there and my friends and neighbors cars brought there too for the service. James is always looking out for my best interest and keeps me safe on the road. He recommends things I need by priority and we work on them little by little. He takes care of me and my friends.. Thank you

I have been going to AASTRO for 4 years.Jimmy has always been helpful. When my air conditioning went out last month I went to AASTRO and they found a seal leaking the repair was not expensive and it was done the same day its been much more comfortable with my a/c working. I have AASTRO do all of my oil changes and I will keep going to them. Thanks Jimmy

Great people, Great Service

by jjsteelio at Citysearch

Aastro Transmission is outstanding. My overall general experience has been great. James, the manager at the Speedway/Beverly location doesn’t just take care of my car, he takes care of my life. He is courteous, professional and calming, finding and diagnosing the problem quickly. He always explains the problem to me so that I can understand it, as well as explaining how he will fix it.

I once called James after hours on his cell phone when my car broke down in White Mountains, and he helped me figure out how to handle the problem up there. James even spoke to the mechanic who was working on it to make sure everything was taken care of correctly.

After Aastro Transmission fixes something James will drive my car to make sure it is working right. He handles all the aspects of my life that relate to the car, I know that my vehicle is safe and running well when I get it back.

I have been using Aastro Transmission for the past 10 years, for both my son’s and my own vehicle and I am a very satisfied customer. Aastro rewards loyalty. Sometimes James will run a diagnostic check for me within 5 minutes of my arriving and not even charge me for it. I can tell that they appreciate my business. I feel special while I'm there.

AVOID THIS PLACE!

by Ryan Esquesta at Citysearch

Came here wed, left next tuesday with my transmission in my back seat, paid $409 for a diagnosis to find they wanted to charge me over $3000 to fix my transmission when it was only a $250 torque converter. when I got my car back the transmission was in the trunk and my engine was held up with coat hangers. AVOID THIS PLACE!

  • Pros: Nice guy behind the counter
  • Cons: Rip off artists
