Great Spa, Hair Services too Assembly Line-Like

by MajTaj at Citysearch

I have been going to the spa zone at River location for 9 years, and i LOVE stephanie, my facialist. She is gentle and professional and never pushes product or up-sell. On the other hand, I will not return for hair services. I have gone to Britanny three times, and, though she is a friendly girl, she is WAY over-booked. She was trying to do three clients at the same time as my appt.. She left me at the washing station for so long that one of her interns came to give me a "free treatment" to apologize, which consisted of putting conditioner on, then wrapping a warm, wet towel on my head. By the time someone remebered me, the towel was COLD and wet, very unpleasant. I could tell she was trying to expidite the appt., because she highlighted my hair WET, to save a step. They also use way too much bleach, and heat, to process color quickly. The front desk girls are, without exception, snotty, rude, and couldn't give a care that you are a client. Total attitude. Definetly not a quality experience any of the three times, and I won't be returning. Too expensive for the mediocre results.

  • Pros: lots of parking
  • Cons: stylists way overbooked, push product, unfriendly desk help

Best Salon and Spa in Tucson

by kbmdgb at Citysearch

I just moved to tucson and was looking for a great place to get my hair done. I am very big on my experience in a salon and Gadabout exeeded my expectations. The employees at the front desk were very knowledgable and welcoming. My hair stylist was very informative on how to take care of my hair and different products to use. My favorite part is the wet lounge where they sit you down in a dimmed room to wash your hair as you watch a video of beaches on a televsion above while listening to relaxing music. I felt like I was recieving a spa service! All the employees are very knowlegable. I asked the stylist about their education, and they said that after beauty school the recieve training as interns for 1+ year through gadabouts education program. Very impressive. I also got my eyebrows waxed and love them! Very resonable prices for the experience you get. I had a great experience and this is now the only place I will go in Tucson!

  • Pros: Atmosphere, service, knowledgable, great parking, great customer service
  • Cons: None

Unprofessional, bad atmosphere

by pmallen at Citysearch

I have now had 2 bad experiences and will never go back. The first was a bad color where the stylist said she couldn't repair the damage as she was moving and would not be working...I found someone else to fix it and was not charged but I had to arrange it myself. The second was I was trying a new sytlist and was 15 min late for the appt, I called ahead and they said no problem, when I got there she was doing someone else's hair, wouldn't even talk to me and I was scolded for being late. I was told I could only have a cut even though I had booked time for a cut, color and my husband's haircut. I was informed that they stylist had to catch a plane. This was very disappointing mostly because the receptionist was so snappy and mean and the stylist wouldn't even speak with me. I cancelled all three appts and was told a manager would call me, no calls were made. The last thing you want when you are getting your hair cut or colored is an angry person working on you. They must have plenty of business to be able to blow off a new client. There are plenty of other salons in Tucson who would love the business!

  • Pros: Pretty Salon
  • Cons: Terrible customer service, the worst I've even had in a salon!

Need More Gadabout(s)

by terina918 at Citysearch

I now live in Canada, someone please bring Gadabout to Montreal? My first and only visit to Gadabout was a few years ago when I was given a gift card by my husband for an anniversary gift...wow, I was so relaxed after the facial, pedicure and manicure, I forgot my shoes!

  • Pros: Staff, Parking, Timely
