OK food, crappy service, and scam for the bill...
by Shodan
May 19, 2009
We have went out with friends for work who apparently like the place, so we went along...tried to relax after hard nine hour shift, and a couple of six day weeks. Service was somewhere between non-interested, to surly, but the food was going to make up according to our friends. After a while the food came, and almost made up for the crappy level of service, but not quite as it just wasn't that good. When the check came it was surprisingly high, and they screwed up separating it. They tried to charge me mandatory 15% charge/tip for a large part...we had four adults, one five year old, and one nine month old...only the adults ate...to me that is a party of four. They charged me for the whole party, and not just our part of it. After a while at the register they just overcharged us for our part. We were giving them a chance on the suggestion of friends, but obviously they do not want more regular customers in this recession. They succeed at that. We will not be back. An apology and a refund might make me give them another try, but outside of that we will not be repeating our mistake of going there. Getting scammed once is quite enough, and I will be quite happy to take my money elsewhere as Tucson has plenty of decently priced Italian places, so no need to be ripped off here. I would give this place, and it's a-hole style management zero stars, but CitySearch requires I give at least one, which is only reason they get one.
- Pros: Food was OK...had better, but it was OK.
- Cons: Crappy, surly, disinterested, slow service, and overcharge .
Rocco's ..... Avoid this place!

Rocco?s Little Chicago on 2707 E. Broadway Blvd ripped me off.
The owner (Rocco) personally overcharged me after I?d asked the waitress is the Quarter a wing deal was still on Wednesday evening.
She said ?yes??.
Rocco didn?t honor what his waitress told me.
Worse than that he muttered insults barely under his breath as I turned to leave after paying full price.
He is a poor excuse for a human being, however, he is very proud of the fact the business has been there 10 years!
He is willing to overcharge a customer (me) at the expense of his character (or lack thereof).
Good going, Rocco!
All Citysearch Tucson diners should avoid Rocco?s Pizza on Broadway.
He won?t honor a deal?..and is a cheap sleaze ball on top of that!
- Pros: Advertises low prices
- Cons: Won't honor low prices

Roccos is a small but always fun place to visit for amazing pizza. The staff is helpful and nice, and the quality is always superb. My boyfriend is from Chigaco, and he says Roccos is the closest thing he's had to Chigago since he left.
- Pros: Amazing quality of food
- Cons: can be packed some nights since it's so small

Rocco's Chicago-style pizza is hands-down the best in Tucson. The menu offers a variety of toppings that cater to vegetarians, vegans and everyday omnivores.
The service is mediocre at best, but the staff is polite and seats you as soon as possible. They also make a much faster Chicago-style pizza than other pizza parlors in the city.
The restaurant can get a little busy on the weekends, as it is a rather small, but waits rarely average longer than 20 minutes.
PROS: GREAT pizza, vegetarian/vegan friendly
CONS: Minimal seating, average service

My mom and I used to go to Rocco's for lunch (they have GREAT lunch specials) all the time. She passed away a month ago. I will keep going to Rocco's for great memories of mom and for great pizza. I had the best mom/daughter lunches with her at Rocco's. They have wonderful Pizza, Sandwiches, and Salads. The best for lunch is the pizza and salad combo...try it with their homemade ranch or blue cheese, it is great. Their cookies are delightful for dessert.
- Pros: Wonderful food
- Cons: little parking lot
Picky Mom and me

I went to Rocco's Little Chicago for Christmas with my uncle. He said that this is going to great pizza. I love pizza, but not as much as this pizza. It has changed my taste buds completely. Whenever I have pizza it doesn't compare to Rocco's Pizza. Now my mom is very picky when it comes to food and when we went in and had the Heart Attack special, she ate two whole pieces, including crust. Now compare that to two bites of any other pizza, frozen or delivery.
- Pros: The price and food
- Cons: small
Best Veggie Pizza and Chicken Wings!

We had a party of 6 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. We sat outside, had the mild and hot chicken wings, along with a veggie pizza, sausage and mushroom pizza and a calzone...oh and beer. :) Nothing was left! The place was very crowded but the service was still good. We would all highly recommend Rocco's.
- Pros: pizza variety, chicken wings, outside seating
- Cons: crowded, not much parking

My sister's a vegan and brought me here to try the stuffed vegetarian pizza vegan style, and it made me fall in love with this place. Every time I come to Tucson I have to stop here and eat a slice of the stuffed pizza. The regular veggie stuffed pizza comes with cheese and is SOOOO delicious.
I brought a couple of these pies back to Los Angeles and my family wants to go visit Tucson just to have one of these fresh out of the oven...
- Pros: relaxed atmosphere, inexpensive, friendly staff
- Cons: none
oh my god it's awesome

best pizza ever, from the deep dish to the thin crust. The other menu items are just as incredible, on top of that there is 50 cent wing night on wednesdays and on Tuesdays if you wear a Rocco's t-shirt, you get a free appetizer. The service is great, and all of the people working there are incredibly nice. If the place looks packed, your best bet is to order for take out, pizza is just as good the next day.
- Pros: environment, inexpensive
- Cons: gets packed

The deep dish pizza pie is out of this world. One slice and you are stuffed to the gills! All that cheese is dangerously good! The waitstaff is attentive and makes sure everything is to your liking. Sauce tastes like Mom made it that morning! The price you pay for the quantity you get is a steal! Get there early on a Saturday night before it gets packed! This place is a gem hidden on Broadway Blvd!
- Pros: Made to Order, Inexpensive
- Cons: Limited parking, Crowded at nights
