The Best Thai food I've ever eaten -- and I've been to Thailand. The Lemon Grass Soup is expensive, but EXCELLENT! My 3 kids who love this restaurant also took me there last year when I visited them in Tucson. Went back a second time that week! It's a down home place, not fancy, family-run, (I believe Thai) with wonderful food. The Pad Thai noodles are the best with yummy peanut sauce, and I never thought I was fond of peanut sauce. If you like Asian food, you can't go wrong eating here!

Coming from a large West Coast city known for its great Thai food, I never thought I'd find anything good in Tucson, but I finally did at Char Thai. I've had curry and noodle dishes and both are excellent. The restaurant's interior leaves something to be desired, but the great, spicy food makes up for it. This restaurant is about 100 times better than Thai Saigon (which is atrocious).

Pros: Excellent flavors, lots of seating, free parking

Cons: Cheap decor (don't let it scare you away)

Ordered the pad thai and coconut red curry with chicken. The curry was average, the pad thai yummy! It had great flavor - a tasty blend of the shrimp paste/peanut/sweet-chili, one of the best I've had. I also ordered the mango w/sweet rice, and pleasantly surprised with how ripe and sweet the mango was (thought mango season was in May) and the additional tastiness of the sweet rice flavored with rose or orange water. I can understand how this place is a local favorite. The restaurant looks a bit worn, but the food is good.

Pros: Tasty food, Inexpensive

Cons: Decor/furniture worn

I'll be sorry that I've moved across town. This place was always the first option when I didn't want to cook. The service is great! The food is awesome!

Pros: inexpensive, quick, good food
