Wonderful setting for wonderful a lunch
by Tucsonian
The setting of the tea room is in the middle of Tohono Chul Park and just a gorgeous place to take anyone. We had heard that Albert Hall from Acacia took over and since we just love his other restaurant our expectations were a little high. As soon as we walked in the host was just as warm and friendly as she could be. She took us to the back patio, which was just beautiful by the way, where we had the best Huevos Rancheros I've ever had and my wife had the Apricot & Cream Cheese filled French Toast which was absolutely amazing. Our service was friendly but not intrusive and the manger made us feel right at home. If you're ever are in the mood for a fantastic brunch check out the Tohono Chul Tea Room. I'ts worth it!!
- Pros: beautiful patio service and food
- Cons: None

The tea room is down to earth and set in a quaint rustic old tucson ranchette. I had my wedding there and have fond memories of the place. The food is average, simple and unpretensious. I go there to relax and enjoy the surrounding.
- Pros: great ambience, inexpensive, good service
- Cons: may not fill ya up

Visitors learn all about the Sonoran desert and Southwestern culture at this popular park.
A tranquil spot with fresh southwestern food and a great view of the desert landscape.

The Scene
Mexican tiles decorate burbling garden fountains outside. Heavy wood tables dot the adobe and wood-beam rooms inside. Plenty of windows allow for a majestic view of snowy clouds sailing over mesquite trees, palos verdes and saguaro cacti.
The Food
Tender chunks of chicken or thick slices of bacon occupy mild Mexican dishes. The huevos enchiladas feature eggs and roasted chiles wrapped in a corn tortilla and topped with cheddar and jack cheeses. A side dish of black beans with sour cream is balanced with a fruit cup filled with fresh-cut pieces of melon and seasonal fruits. Other options include scones, two huge currant studded rounds with cream and jam on the side, a plate of bagels and lox, or a generous filet of grilled salmon served with rice and a green salad.
Great Food, Excellent Space

Now here's a restaurant Tucson can be proud of!
Nestled in the 49 acre natural desert habitat known as Tohono Chul, this adobe tearoom and the adjacent gift shop are housed in one of the buildings bequeathed to this organization by the original benefactor.
The food is exceptional -- for Tucson, at least. Original and tasty, the menu is diverse and moderately priced. You could propose to your spouse-to-be or treat Dad to lunch here. Never any excuses or bad food.
Don't miss this one!
- Pros: great food, excellent atmosphere, clean clean clean
- Cons: waiting for tables, don't bring the kids
A Personal and Family Favorite

A delight to visit irregardless of season from the wonderful gardens that attract a variety of birds and butterflys, to changing exhibits in the museum, and to fantastic meals in the Tearoom. Arrive early for lunch as an excellent reputation can mean a long wait on some days.
- Pros: Beautiful grounds, Terrific meals, Friendly staff
- Cons: Inadequate parking

Good food, poor service
by ericprater
Great setting, great food, but not so great service. We arrived, were seated and waited for ever until I finally went to the front and asked if we had a server. The busser came over and took out drink orders. Finally, our server showed up and took our orders. The food came up quickly and that was the last time we saw our server, until I asked the busser for our bill. She (server) failed to meet the two bite, two minute check back, and frankly, she was not too pleasent either. I went up to tell the manager, and she made no apologies nor did she offer anything. I will never go back. Restaurants are about SERVICE, food come second.
