Tucson >X-Treme Hair & Nails
Two terrible experiences. I first visited X-treme when it first opened and because the management there had offered free services to the place I was working at. My first service was a facial. I was not offered a robe, not instructed to remove my shirt, but rather was just told to lay down on the table so the technician could begin. The room was freezing and I was never offered any covering as is customary at other salons or spas when receiving a facial. The whole experience was so awkward. The next time I visited the salon (over a year later) was because I received a half-off postcard for a pedicure (normally priced at $40- the offer was for $20). Thinking that my first experience was "just a fluke" I decided to go in. Bad idea. I'm fairly certain that the "nail tech" just woke up one morning and decided that she didn't like her last job waitressing, and wanted to do nails instead. She was completely unprepared for my appointment and had to get up at least 6 times to get the needed utensils from elsewhere in the salon. She looked sloppy, and nothing like I would expect someone working in the beauty industry to look like. The entire pedicure was nothing short of a nightmare. She cut my toes with the cuticle remover. And start to finish, it took her an hour and a half! Meanwhile, the rest of the staff is milling about, carrying on in conversations and activities as though I (a guest!) was not present. I was almost convinced I was on some sort of candid camera show. Needless to say, I couldn't leave fast enough and will NEVER go back there again.
Great Salon. I must say that I highly recommend this salon to anyone and everyone who wants good service in a friendly atmosphere. I tell everyone that asks me where I get my hair and nails done to go to Xtreme. The service is great, the people are friendly and they make you feel very comfortable. I have had about every service they offer done to me, and I have yet to have a bad experience. Overall this is a great salon with great service!
Bad nail experience. I had really looked forward to having my nails done at xtreme because i liked the atmosphere when i went to get my hair done. I have had better hair cuts but they were so nice and i felt comfortable there so i wanted to go back and get my nails done too. I went a week ago and it was the worst experience i've ever had.The lack of professionalism was astounding! Veronica was the girl who did my nails. she looked like she was high or hung over or both. She was nice enough but I could tell she didnt know what she was doing and she spent her time listening to & joining other peoples conversations in the other booths. I had red nail polish on & she didnt even take it off completely before she started putting on the new nail tips. She also didnt prep my nails right and she gooped on the stuff like she was spackling a wall! she didnt even know how to use the electric files & she was using an old fashioned nail file! she cut my fingers up so bad i've had to put ointment on them all week so they could heal & for the pain because i type all day. She was sloppy and has no business doing nails. I complained and the manager Gabriel who was nice and he tried to fix my nails but he didnt know what he was doing either! It was a joke! His sister had to finish up the job for him. I was there from 11:30 in the morning till 3:00 in the afternoon!!! I was shocked that Gabriel actually charged me 25.00 for that awful experience but he was so nice i went ahead and paid him for the effort. The finished product didnt look to bad but it was not what i had asked for. This morning the nails started popping off & I'm now so disgusted i decided to write this review. I will never return and i have told everyone i know not to go there.
Poor quality hair stylist and service.
I normally do not write reviews, but I felt compelled to write a review b/c of my terrible experience.
The stylist that saw me (Tracie) spent the entire time talking to her friend/sister? in the opposite booth while she was cutting my hair. It was very obvious her focus was not on me. I asked for side swept bangs and to keep the length. She gave me flat above the eyebrow bangs, with lots of very short layers. I cannot even put my hair into a ponytail. I honestly dont understand how she could have gotten it so wrong! She was not paying attention and it became obvious very quickly. In my experience a $35.00 hair cut should come with the finished style. I specifically had to ask her to dry my hair after she took my robe off with my hair still dripping water. To make it worse, she did a poor job using only her fingers to flip the hair around. She did not use a brush at all to help style. I have left a message for the manager that has not been returned. I have very simple hair to work with and am astounded and truly shocked at how poor my experience at this salon was. Save yourself some money. If you dont mind this quality of work, go to a Wal-Mart salon. As far as an nice salon, this place is not worth the gas to get there.
I really want to prevent someone from going through this. I have hair that grows fairly quickly, otherwise I would consider suing.
UPDATE It has now been 5 days. I have called the salon at least once per day and still no return call from the owner/manager. 'GABRIEL' never seems to be around. At this point I just want someone to fix the mohawk they gave me. And just this morning the receptionist gave me alot of attitude and appeared to be annoyed that I have dared to call back again.
TAKE MY ADVICE. DO NOT GO HERE!
