From pecan waffles to legendary hash browns, breakfast fare rules at this homey 24-hour chain restaurant--but don't miss the chili..
In Short
Since 1955, this Atlanta-based chain has welcomed an all-hours crowd of shift workers, suits, regulars and late-night partiers with comfy booths and an extensive menu of Southern-accented home-style grub. Waffles (pecan or regular) are the restaurant's most popular dish. Other breakfast favorites include porterhouse T-bone steak and eggs, country ham, and signature hash browns cooked seven ways, from smothered with onions to topped with chili or cheese. Another bargain is the bowl of chili, which comes topped with onions, ham and cheese.
Always the same and always different. I've eaten at the Waffle House all over. They always are the same and always a little different. Each one seems to have its own flavor of the local crowd. This one had a few locals, a few travelers (its close to the airport) and a few first timers when I was there. The service was good, I watched the cook prepare my order, and I was out in a flash. Good service, good food, and clean.
