Cheap, but not in a good way..
Our server was very friendly, in that small town diner sort of way. You can tell that most of the customers are regulars. The atmosphere and the service however do not make up for the abysmal food.
It is almost like the cook is prevented from using any seasoning and unsure about how his oven temperature. I ordered steak and eggs, toast and grits. It was nothing challenging but my steak came out overcooked, and unseasoned. I couldn't even identify what cut of meat that it was supposed to be, unless oddly shaped and grey is a cut. The grits were watery and again unseasoned. My grits ended up tasting like poorly done instant oatmeal. With my southern background this was perhaps the cruelest cut of all. My eggs were overcooked, and completely devoid of all seasoning. The only thing that came out right was the toast, but come on, its toast.
Bottom line, if all you care about is atmosphere this place is great but if you want good food look elsewhere. It might be a good place to take your in-laws if you don't like them very much.
