Tips for New China Super Buffet

for teenaged palates. I went here because it was recommended highly by high school kids, and not concidentally, the food has little resemblance to any Chinese food I've had. Almost every dish is swimming in some sickeningly sweetened glaze of some kind. The chicken in peanut butter sauce (Chinese?!) tasted more like chicken dessert sauce for ice cream. The second time up highlighted the severe sweetness of these dishes to the point of disgust. I saw few fresh vegetables or traditional chinese flavors. The seafood was sparse and bland; and the day I was there, there was just a wee bit of overboiled soup that looked more like gravy in one container. I'm not going back.

Now 2 out of 3 give it THUMBS UP!. Whenever I read restaurant and/or hotel reviews on like Trip Advisor one thing is certain....some reviews, like those that find everything wrong and not one thing right usually deserve 'lip service.' And why or why does fellow reviewer who attended an office party take three bites of one dish, then leaves with his companion and of ALL only he later has stomach problems. Let's hear it for ALL the others who did just fine. Three bites of one dish out of 100 dishes does not a fair rating make!

My buddy and I visited Tucson for five nights. I found this restaurant and we ate there not once but TWICE.. I fully agree with fellow reviewer who goes there often and loves the place. Four starts because the restaurant is years old only restaurants with a strong following survive long enough for furnishings to show wear....another clue.) I will mention price. At $7.95 for dinner we are talking 1970's pricing and given our economy this HELPS.

When they ran out of my favorite BBQ spare ribs a young waitress went into the kitchen and five minutes later appeared with a fresh batch of ribs. This was late in the evening near closing time and many such restaurants will not refill dishes at that time. With like 50-80 dishes to choose from even my vegetarian buddy gave the restaurant high marks. He had salmon, veggies, noodles, stuffed broiled mushrooms, oodles of salad and much fresh fruit. If a dish is too greasy well that's the benefit of a buffet....you move on to a dish that does it for you. Soup was yummy and all in all super value and good to very good buffet offerings.

Lord Almighty! Honestly the worst food ever. Really!. My brother was invited there for a Christmas Party for his work. Why they chose this place could have only been price! When I walked in, I was shocked at how dilapidated the carpeting was. The hostess took us to the back of the restaurant. It honestly looked like a Grey Hound bus stop. The lighting was dimmed in some places and glaring in others. The seats were covered in a light greasy film so when you sat down you kind of slid.

Since the food was free, we decided to try it. We grabbed a scratched and chipped plastic plate and grabbed some of the gyoza and orange chicken (since I thought they wouldn't have been able to mess it up that bad). I was wrong! After seriously three bites of the orange chicken, gyoza and rice, we decided to leave. 30 minutes later my stomach started hurting. Awesome experience if you want terrible bus stop food.
