Not Impressed. I went to Beyond Bread with a friend - we ordered an omelet to split with the addition of bacon in the omelet it totaled up to the regular price of an omelet at any other breakfast restaurant. When we got the omelet we received a small amount of potatoes and the omelet was flat and small. Ordered extra order of Potato Pancakes. We were never asked if we wanted applesauce or sour cream with it. A usual side condiment with potato pancakes. Asked the waitress about it. She just pointed to the front told us to get it and pay the extra .75 ea. Customer service - not good. I'd rather go to Blue Willow or Cup Cafe for breakfast.

Love it, love it, love it!. I was a Beyond Bread ad dict when I lived in Tucson. Delicious sandwiches and amazing desserts. Go during off hours to avoid crowds, or call ahead and pick it up, or as a friend once suggested, call ahead, pick it up and eat in the restaurant to avoid the order line. My biggest pet peeve was that they usually forget any special instructions (ie. no tomatoes on my sandwich) but it wasn't enough to drive me away by any measure.

The Cats Delight. It's a sunny Thursday afternoon in Tucson and you're hungry after class for a good sandwhich. BB is the place to go grab good grub on the best bread in town. It's a great scene there.

'comfort' food?. beyond bread is certainly filling, large , hefty sandwiches. but comfort food is usually associated with heavy, fatty, carb-laden foods. this place has many healthy, albeit, over-stuffed items. deli meats and all types of veggies and cheeses... layered between homemade bread slabs.

but no fries, shakes, or burgers.
