Come to Tucson Just To Shop Here
by SwanSongII at Citysearch
Borderlands is great! I have made 2 trips to Tucson just to shop there. They have the best prices and selection I've found. I personally don't want sales people bothering me while I shop. But when I have a question the staff is always very helpful. Also, there's never been any issue with the quality of the merchandise. I love everything I've purchased from them.
- Pros: selection, quality, prices
- Cons: parking
Muy allegre! Typical Mexican furniture, ceramics and decorations at half the cost of department stores
by fabricfloozy at Citysearch
It's as bizarre as a Mexican marketplace. It is an adventure. Look around the corners. I loved it! The furniture is beautiful rustic Spanish style; there are wrought iron light fixtures to go with it. I love the ornate, handpainted ceramics (lead free and with a good glaze), the traditional masks made from gourds, along with many other items. There is even a corner where damaged items are half price. I found a beautiful ornate dish with a small chip that I purchased for my back yard, but it is too pretty and will stay inside. The sales people are very cordial and put your items in big durable totes. We left with three of them which will get used many times over. We are very happy with our purchases and intend to go back again. I think they have the lowest prices on this side of the border.
Best store for Mexican Arts and Crafts
by klady32 at Citysearch
I have shopped all over Tucson and Nogales for the best deals in pottery, mistress dolls, swtchplates, and Talavera. Borderlands has the best prices hands down. The owner is always cheerful and helpful. Like items are grouped together and well marked. No, you do not have marble floors, soft music playing in ther background, or are you greeted with a hot cup of coffee. This is why they can keep the prices so reasonable. When looking for typical Mexican decorative elements start at Borderlands first. If you cannot find what you want, then go to the spiffier stores with higher prices or pay for the gas and aggravation and go south to Mexico. Me, I prefer to let Borderlands handle it all for me.
- Pros: price, variety of types of products, parking
- Cons: dark, quaility of artistry on some products only good
Spectacular Prices on Mexican Handcrafted items!
by isee at Citysearch
This store is one of Tucson's best kept secrets! Their prices are spectacular - the lowest that I have see for identical Mexican handcrafted items in Tucson! They can also, special order a wide variety of items for you from their catalog if you cannot find what you want in-stock.
Borderlands Outlet - Good experience!
by winterwoman at Citysearch
I found the people at Borderlands to be very helpful in putting together a deal on the phone, making the modification we needed, and having the items ready when needed. Not always easy to deal long distance, but we found Borderlands to be very accommodating. I'll shop there again!
