A low-key, friendly environment attracts plenty of families to this reliable chain. Kids in the big booths--often clutching free balloons and crayons--usually outnumber adults sitting at the bar. The menu offers filling American fare with no surprises, from mozzarella sticks and nachos to rollups and burgers. Entrees include steaks, fajitas and main dish salads. The calorie-conscious can select from a list of Weight Watchers-inspired dishes like mesquite chicken salad and grilled tilapia with mango salsa.

daddyO. Applebee's is a great place to eat, but not really one of the cheapest. Try JB's. Roberts, or Gus Balons--at least 20% cheaper and the food and service are great

happy hour heaven. this absolute cheapest of the happy hour set. appetizers are half price and there are daily drink specials. best part? TWO happy hour periods daily!

3pm-7pm and 10pm 'til closing time.

the was the best cheesburger by far.. best cheesburger in town, by far. my husband and I eat there quite a lot. we enjoy the friendly atmosphere
