I do NOT reccomend the Old Pueblo Grill!.
Our first visit to the Old Pueblo Grill was in Apr. 08. when visiting my husband who had moved to the area. We sat outside under the stars, with all the lights. There was a guitarist, the food was good, the chicken tortilla soup was the best I've ever had. My son had gotten a side of macaroni and cheese that came with his dinner and it was sooo good! The only thing I thought was odd was we had to pay for chips and salsa. I've never had to do that before at a mexican restaurant!
Our next visit was in Aug.It was just ok, service wasnt as good, we ate outside again, no music, really slow, and lots of dirty tables.
In Sept. We decided togoto the restaurant at Foothills mall. The drinks were awful, food bad. The indoor atmosphere bad, not to mention they put us right by the kitchen.
In Oct. our daughter came,so where do you think we decided to go? Coming from the NW where it is always raining I really love dining outdoors so I said we need to give it another try. That was a huge mistake. Dinner was the worst ever. I got a salad, the lettuce was old, and they forgot my dressing. I also got my favorite chicken tortilla soup. It was gross and cold. We all got these huge margaritas that our waitress said was good but yuk, they only gave us heartburn. Service was poor, the place was dead, only about 5 other tables. My son didnt get that really good mac and cheese that was on the menu and when I asked for it she said they only served it ala carte. My husband didnt like his dinner...my daughters said there dinner was ok although they didnt eat much and to be honest they are college students and any food mom and dad buy is good to them. We walked out of there with a 160.00 bill and felt totally ripped off.
I doubt very seriously we will ever go back after spending approx. 600. dollars there in the last few months.
In this economy when we are all struggling and its a real treat to go out to eat I think we all need to know about places like this.
Doesn't live up to it's rep!.
We decided to go to a different restaurant and picked the Old Pueblo Grill. What a waste of time and money. My husband ordered the Chili Relleno and I steak Fajita's, shouldn't go wrong with that order! Well, it did. The Chilli Relleno was full of hot seeds, not cleaned out as it should be. The guacamole was spicy hot, now who ever heard of that, it is supposed to be the counter to spicy. My steak fajita was tough as leather, could not chew it. The presentation was poor and the food much poorer. To the restaurants credit they did not charge us for the meal, the manager tried the guacamole and was very upset. Doubt seriously if we will ever return.
Service was good.
