local hang out even the locals should avoid.
Claire's Cafe advertises "the best food in town." From the looks of the joint, you would surmise it would have to be good ( dumpy in a drab little strip sharing a hardware store and foot clinic) but........no NOOOOOOOOOOOO. Breakfast was packed on a recent Saturday, and we were seated told to "go over there>" quickly. Before I was called honey 3 times, our real waitress/waiter ???? dropped by to sling some coffee. We ordered short stack with sausage patties, two eggs over with links, and rye toast. 2 "sweethearts" later the cakes arrive, with clear evidence of the last meat dish cooked on that side of the grill. They were dry and the syrup was still cooling off in the kitchen somewhere. The patties were burnt........but had some flavor. The eggs were white and yellow, but the link sausage looked like a couple of banana slugs on the plate. (a nce slimy yellow ) And....gee if they would have only tasted that good. Horrible and smelled bad too. So....if that is the best in town, damn good thing I don't get hungry driving through Catalina !
I wrote a review for this dump last week, but it didn't show.............??????
