The Boondocks is instantly recognizable by the giant wine bottle attached to its exterior. Yes, the big wine bottle serves as an unmistakable landmark, luring patrons into the Boondocks for years. This is a working-man's bar, with an absolutely unpretentious atmosphere. No yuppies will be found within a 100-yard radius of the front door, and that's just fine by the regulars. Regular music acts range from traditional country to blues and a big screen TV shows important sports events when the University of Arizona teams are hot. Perhaps unlike many upscale bars in Tucson, folks at the Boondocks seem to welcome newcomers. The beer and drink selection is basic, and prices are predictably reasonable.
