The staff will have you giggling at this University of Arizona lunch spot, where only the food is taken seriously.. The Scene
Eric's pulls in foot traffic from the nearby University of Arizona campus. You order at the counter, where the menu board lists hamburgers, burritos, soups and sandwiches. Marker boards announce specials. When food is ready, servers race through the two dining rooms calling out names.

The Food
Fine foods is no exaggeration: Dishes are generous, delicious and freshly prepared. Specials include exotic items like Mexican salmon soup, chunky with vegetables and served with a mini-loaf of French bread. Huge hamburgers come on baguettes, with pasta salad on the side. All diners get a complimentary cookie. Before leaving, challenge a server to recall the ice cream flavors available. From chocolate chocolate chip to the wacky Gentle Persuasion, made of oatmeal and prunes, the ice creams, piled high in a 12-ounce cup, are smooth and delicious.
