32.250152 -110.959070wow!. I read the review by genisis3 and tried Yamato. Don't let the strip mall exterior fool you. This is some awesome food! We did the pickled jelly fish, dynomite baked fish, squid salad, green mussles, cured salmon, salmon & tuna nigiri, spider roll, spicey tuna roll, shitake mushroom roll, sunset (catepiller at other places) roll, freshwater eel, & tamago. It was a group of five with two sushi newbies and I don't really like sushi. LOVED IT!! Super fresh, not mushy, great flavor, and beautiful presentation. Everything was yummy. LOVED IT!!!! The fried ice cream for dessert was good too and the fruit desert (carved into animal shapes) was spectacular. LOVED IT!!!
Is it food, or is it art?. I'm from Seattle so am pretty tough to please when it comes to sushi. The fish was fresh and beautifully presented, and there were unusual specials that make this place worth a visit. Try the shitake mushroom rolls, which are to die for! The chef makes delicious cured salmon, not available anywhere else. There's a dish called "Dynamite" - lots of different kinds of seafood, covered in cheese and baked. They are one of the few places I have ever seen that serves marinated jellyfish - we didn't get around to trying theirs, but it's a delicacy that I've enjoyed elsewhere. Some of the food was almost too pretty to eat. We got a 24-piece sashimi platter for $20. We waddled out the door, completely stuffed for about $30 each - a good value for sushi. If I lived here, I'd definitely come back to this place!
