Tips for El Corral Steakhouse

Best Steakhouse in Tucson by far. As a native Tucsonan, I've experience most of the steakhouses around town, from the hole-in-the wall joints to the trendy (and pricey!) new places (McMahon's, Flemmings). El Corral has always been my favorite. Their steak is excellent, the ribs are done just right...the meat falls right off the bone everytime, and the prime rib is always outstanding! Maybe the fact that the restaurant is owned by a cattle company has something to do with that?

Many restaurants in Tucson have good food, but the difference with El Corral is the atmosphere and ambiance. The building is actually a historic ranch house from the early 1900's, and the flagstone floors, wood beam ceilings and warm fireplaces only add to the history of the restaurant.

El Corral isn't one of the trendy steakhouses in Tucson, so you won't find all of the tourists eating there. It's a little secret of the locals.

prime rib heaven. Don't come here for the steaks - they've always been mediocre. But the prime rib is heaven, even if they serve it with the nastiest fake mashed potatoes this side of Denny's. Try the "atomic" horseradish!

Gone downhill over the years. This place used to be a great place for steaks. Lately though, they've been going down hill.

The steaks are no longer as flavorful as they used to be, the service is slow, and their prices went up.

Their prime rib is tasty, but the portions seem to get smaller and smaller.

Even at their current prices, it's still inexpensive. Their cuts just don't seem to be very good.

MARVELOUS!!!. We had the pleasure of enjoying El Corral for the first time and were thoroughly enthralled with their service (especially from our perky & delightful server Bobbie), their rustic ambiance, and most especially their fine Prime Rib product! We can well understand why on a Tuesday evening @ 5:45 they were already jammed with people . . . truly a marvelous find that we'll enjoy in he future!!

Prime rib?. Again, going off of the recommendations of friends, my husband and I went to El Corral for prime rib. Best in town, everyone says! So imagine my surprise when I order mine medium rare, only to be told they're out. It was early in the evening, and a restaurant that specializes in prime rib is out? Horribly disappointed. I ended up getting a filet that was so-so. Haven't been back since. Seems like going to McDonalds for a burger only to be told that they're all sold out.

60 year favorite. El Corral has been a Tucson favorite for over 60 years! El Corral serves up the best prime rib in Tucson, bar none! The portions are sized right and their Mud Pie dessert is to die for. With their great food and value pricing - it's not hard to see why they've been going strong for 60+ years! It's the best!

best prime rib around. you know when you dont get to the restaurant whithin an hour after it opens and there is a line waiting to get in. El Corral has chicken, it has ribs, but this place is and always has been about prime rib. no better deal in town and no better prime rib in town

Great Place. I've been going to El Corral for the past twenty years. I was just there a couple of weeks ago and the food, ambience, and value was and is the best. The service is also amazing, from the friendly hostess/host and awsome servers (how do they carry all of those plates?) to the helpful mangement and incredibly fast busser...my experience was great. Try the Golden Margaritas (a must) along with a delicious Onion cheese bread appetizer. Don't forget to have your salad tossed at the table and then enjoy a nice cut of prime rib with tamale pie. The Mud Pie desert is also a must. Defenitely one of the best places in town.

Arizona Sunset Super Steaks. We look forward to going to El Corral, it is the best. The service is without equal and the prices are very reasonable. The margaritas are perfect. We take pleasure in taking our out of town guests to our well known secret.
