Tips for Gadabout Salon Spa

Less than satisfactory experience. I just moved to Tucson and was in need of a reliable salon, so after doing some research felt confident that Gadabout was the place for me. My first visit was at the Speedway location and I was less than impressed. I went in for a trim and a color change from dark blond to cherry brown. The stylist started the appointment late, then delivered services without any conversation, which was extremely uncomfortable. The lighting is dim, so when the color was done it looked fine as far as I could tell, however, when I got into some natural light I noticed that the stylist failed to color all of my hair! She had left about 3 large spots of blond in my newly darkened hair! I had to call the salon and re-book her to fix it, which she did, but it was even more uncomfortable the second time around. After leaving the second time I noticed that there was still a hint of blond that was left uncovered, but refused to go back a THIRD TIME! I have since went to the location on Sunrise and Kolb and that location seemed to do a much better job!

Best Massage. After my husband lost his job, I was overwhelmed with stress, to say the least. I knew Gadabout offered massages so I booked an appointment. For the first time in monthes I was able to forget about my worries and reklax. Ive gone to a couple different people and each time my massage is extraordinary. I now have weekly appointments. This is the place to go for a massage, without a doubt.

Destroyed my cuticles. Got infected. Avoid completely! Almost a pint of hemoglobin seeped out of 2 of my cuticles while I was checking out. My big toe was sore and hurt for weeks. It started to look black and purple so I went to a doctor and he gave me antibiotics which finally took care of it. I wish I had never come here; I was in pain for at least a week. By the way, when I told the manager how disappointed I was she offered me another pedicure with same butcher. Obviously, I decllined. She never even said sorry.

What happened? Stylist went from great to terrible. When I was new in town, I went to Gadabout first, looking for a good haircut. I was referred to Lauri and she gave me an excellent cut. I was very pleased. On my second visit to Lauri, I received a not-quite-as-good cut, which I attributed to her perhaps having a bad day. My third visit to Lauri was a disaster. She cut my hair in an extremely short style which was nothing like the first cut. It was horribly unattractive. I had to have an ID photo taken shortly afterward, and now I show that picture as a "Please don't do this" with my new stylist. I don't know what happened with Lauri, but I would caution others not to spend big bucks at Gadabout. I'm sure there are many talented stylists there, but this stylist was complacent--perhaps even malicious--at the customer's expense.

Best Salon and Spa in Tucson. I just moved to tucson and was looking for a great place to get my hair done. I am very big on my experience in a salon and Gadabout exeeded my expectations. The employees at the front desk were very knowledgable and welcoming. My hair stylist was very informative on how to take care of my hair and different products to use. My favorite part is the wet lounge where they sit you down in a dimmed room to wash your hair as you watch a video of beaches on a televsion above while listening to relaxing music. I felt like I was recieving a spa service! All the employees are very knowlegable. I asked the stylist about their education, and they said that after beauty school the recieve training as interns for 1+ year through gadabouts education program. Very impressive. I also got my eyebrows waxed and love them! Very resonable prices for the experience you get. I had a great experience and this is now the only place I will go in Tucson!

Sure, it's pricey. But the results are flawless!. Normally I'm not too keen on paying $17 for an eyebrow wax, and I usually don't. However, once I was in a pinch and needed them done pronto, and Gadabout was able to help me. Best $17 I've spent on myself in a long time. It was quick, the lady that helped me was professional and knowledgable, the overall staff was very polite, and my brows looked fantastic. Definitely going back.
