A Great place that could use live music.
We love the Red Garter and often go for the great burgers and fries. It is a large place that offers food, a wonderful bar, pool tables and like Famous Sam's moderate prices. What it should have is a live music scene. Tucson is dying for places to dance and we are talking the blues and R&B. Famous Sam's was hopping the other night with the sounds of a great local Blues band, "The Coolers". We don't see enough blues and R&B in this city and outside of Famous Sam's on Golf Links and Boondocks and Nimbus Brewery there are few other places for good dance music. The place was loaded, the food was great and cheap. Come on, Red Garter bring in a group like "The Coolers" and add even more to your popularity. We do not need another juke box or karaoke. Live Music, please! (Nothing personal, we still love your food!)

Great dive bar.
Unlike downtown bars, the Red Garter has a large parking lot, tons of seating, 6 or 8 pool tables, and almost NO college kids. Great menu. It's all bar food, but that's what you would get at a Fantastic Sam's for twice the price. Try the combo basket!

Editorial Review by Christy Buena.
Hamburgers draw locals in to the Speedway bar that offers pool tables and serves cold beer and barbecue beef sandwiches.

Great customer service. Amazing food value. Divey atmosphere (in a good way). not too crowded..
I would definitely recommend that anyone looking to just hang out, drink, and have a fun time go here. The wait staff is amazing. Our server had just broken her arm during Homecoming and was in a great mood, friendly and very attentive. The food is predictable but tasted great. Good Reubens and burgers. My wife and I go there about 2x per month and never get let down. It beats the daylights out of the scores of chain reataurants in town. Yee-haw.

Local Libationary Treasure.
The Red Garter is a wonderfully cozy and divey sports/billiards bar. They have reasonable prices and serve great bar food, perhaps the best in Tucson. It's a locals place, so not too many of the university kids make their way over to the Garter. I appreciate the always-friendly service, plentiful pool tables, jukebox and dartboards. In short, the Garter is great.
