Great ribs & steak; fresh salad bar. We wanted to try a new rib place. The location is interesting, but the Mesquite bbq smell from the parking lot makes up for it. The place is rustic--just what I expect from a good rib/steak house. It's casual but the wait staff was friendly and efficient. The open pit grill was a wonderful touch. The salad bar is well worth it--cold plates, fresh, crispy lettuce, with a wide variety of items, including potato salad, slaw, carrot salad, and crab salad, with all the dressing and toppings. The touch I loved was not only a wetnap, but a finger bowl and towels to clean off the delicious bbq sauce. And don't forget the Mud Pie! Big enough for 2, maybe even 4, but delicious and well served. Since we had a bit of a celebration, the staff put a candle in it for a nice effect. We definitely will be returning.
Better service at a buffet!.
The bartender is rude beyond imagination. Which is not good since she might be the only person who
does her job effectivley, When we complained to the mgr. She dissapeared for the rest of our meal. I had
prime rib, crab legs and salad bar. The prime rib was the best of the three and it by no means is equal to
Neb. beef. Our crab legs came when we were finished with meat and salad and were room temp. The salad bar was fair at best, it needed stocked, and the lettuce appeared to have been sitting out from the day before. So I left a tip equal to our service, but when I look online I find they gave themselves a 15.00 tip
on my credit card after we left . Another local bus. who see tourists as an easy target.
Good food at a good price. I'm here for a few days on business and wanted a steak. I was a little taken aback at the outside, but parked (not the best lot to navigate) and went in. The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food (I had the combo - 1/4 chicken, steak, and ribs - get it dipped!) was very good and it was a good value. The only weak item was the French Onion soup - not bad, but I've had better, and though the beans were done well, it just wasn't my taste. However, I'll be back.
Pleasant Surprise. For our wedding anniversary, we decided to go to CattleTown (reviewed separately, suffice to say, don't go there). Our GPS led us to the Silver Saddle as an alternate and we had a bit of a chuckle as we pulled up. But we agreed to give it a chance. I'm glad we did! The food is very good and well-priced. Our waitress (if you're reading this, I apologize, I should have noted your name) was friendly and attentive. I agree that the mud pie seems wonderful. My wife ordered it, but I don't do desserts and it was way too much for one. We sliced it in two and sent half back to the kitchen for the staff to enjoy. I'd rather do that than let it get thrown away. In any event, we'll be back!
termite problem. I used to eat there regularly untill I got to know the owners. I asked them what is being done about there temite problem after I had another run in with one. Ruban (the owner) told me he was spraying the place himself. They are cheap and refuse call a profesonal to take care of their termite problem. I got tired of seeing them on the walls and under tables. Their food is good, but I'd rather have the quality of food that is both good and clean.
Best Steak House in Tucson. The Silver Saddle by far is the best steak house I have been to in Tucson. The food is great and the price is less expensive than any other steak house. Other steak houses you have to ala carte the potatoe or salad and at the Silver Saddle it comes with the meal. They have a french onion soup to die for and you always have to save room for their MUD PIE! The staff is very friendly and they treat you like family. I can go on but I hope you get the point....So if you are ever want a great meal I highly recommend the Silver Saddle.
Great Steak.
As a family of unrepentent carnivores, Silver Saddle was a huge surprise- wonderful food- steaks, prime rib with very nice service. Place is jammed on the weekends, so reservations are necessary and the location and parking leave lots to be desired. -but who cares when the food is good. My sons and husband are steak lovers and I like prime rib. That open pit grill is great. I like my meat medium rare and it has -in our last 6 visits- always been done that way. sons and hubbt like well done-which cane be tough if not cooked properly- and I have never once heard a negative- the only sounds were like cows in a feed trough!
Gripe? Chese on the potato- not good so they need to fix it. Other than that, good, prompt service and good food.
Was OK, not worth repeating. Average, and I was expecting more. From the outside, smells delicious, inside was dark, old atmososphere. My meal was tasty- grilled meat is good but the portion not very big, the potatoe burned, with fake cheese! The salad bar was running low and wilty. My son had the hamburger- totally average...thin unseasoned meat and undercooked fries. Well it wont be on my "must return" lists. Staff not too concerned.
Not so great- average at best. The menu was overpriced, the place dingy dirty, and the air quality was poor! We went on a Friday and it was busy, the waitress was rushed and thus the service sucked. Me and my date wanted more drinks but the waitress didnt come around enough...and when she did she was too phoney-baloney and didnt bother to address the drink issue. I had the sirloin and it was ok, the meat I thought could have been bettter qualtiy but had good flavor, my date had the T-bone and I thought it was too thin. what the heck? Maybe it just was a vendor issue but we went off the reviews from this site and the place didnt quite measure up like I thought they would.
Wonderful!. Reading the number of positive reviews, I just had to try this restaurant. I went on a Saturday night. Definitely make a reservation on weekends - many people without them were waiting for an hour. The food was wonderful and the ambience very casual. Two of us got stuffed for just over $50 - what a great value! Definitely get your BBQed meat dipped for better flavor. Beware - the cheese on the baked potato is like Cheeze Whiz and not real grated cheese. I will definitely return!
