I went here for the first time last night. This place always has a line out the door. After eating here I'm guienely not sure why.

I'm not a person who writes Internet reviews but eating here, I couldnt help but to warn others before they waste their money.

Service: just ok

Rice: crunchy, not fully cooked.

Maragirta: get a beer, the Margs are undrinkable!!!!! If you are only going to have one variety with no choice of tequila at least make it good.

Beans: delicious

Birria: good

I recommend if you are going to come to South Tucson for good food, go to Guillermo's across the street. Better maragartas, ice cold beer on tap, but skip the seafood enchiladas- its not good.

Vastly Overrated. This place is a joke. Salsa is probably out of a bottle bought at Safeway. Terrible. Runny, soupy, and in no way fresh. I had the President's Plate, a tamale, which was barely edible and just like the ones served at dozens of others "Mexican" restaurants around the city. I suspect they all come from the same place. The enchilada was nothing but some shredded chicken wrapped in a corn tortilla, covered with tasteless cheese and some sort of gravy. The chile relleno was not that bad. It was better than the horrible ones at El Minuto and El Charro but still nothing to write home about. The "bean tostado" was a fried tortilla in the shape of a bowl containing a soupy mixture of unidentifiable substance covered by shredded lettuce. There was probably 1/3 of a head of iceberg lettuce on my place.

The management is arrogant. Service is OK, with servers doing their best under what are probably horrible working conditions.

This is my 3rd visit, and I will never go again. This is a place to be avoided.

Horrible place. Horrible place! The salsa was essentially plain red water! I am sure they didn't serve that to Bill Clinton. The guacamole was sour and looked as if it's been sitting around for days. The 'fresh salsa' had no taste. The frozen margarita tasted artificial. Most food comes from cans and is overheated in microwaves (this part I would understand, but do not pretend to be one of the best mexican restaurants in Tucson!) The hype and the wait are totally unjustified.

White Dude Married to a Latina. I had the President's Platter. I wish I lived here to come back and try everything else on the menu, Im stuffed. The Chile Rellanos are to die for you HAVE to get one, NO REALLY YOU HAVE TO! The refried beans are homemade perfectly. The Tamale was excellent and also the chicken enchillada. But the FLAN with whip cream stole the show! I am a white dude who is married to a Latina and have eaten many authentic mexican dishes IN MEXICO, and this place was like sitting at Tia Aracelis house back in Mexico.

Continues to be good food!. This continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in the Tucson area. The food is consistently good and the staff are efficient and friendly. My only regret is always the wait, but I do love how they are open late, so it's always worth it!

So This Is What Great Mexican Food Is Like. I live in Seattle where it is commonly said there is "no good Mexican food". I happened to be in Tuscon recently and decided to have a late dinner at Mi Nidito. I was absolutely blown away. From the chips and salsa which were obviously made fresh in house to the chili rellenos, enchiladas, tacos and tostadas-I was given a lesson in what authentic Mexican food is supposed to be like. The Mexican food I have been eating for years does not even resemble the food I was served at Mi Nidito. I'm looking for a reason to go back to Tuscon just so I can eat at Mi Nidito again. One of the best meals of my life. The only downside to this meal was that it ruined eating Mexican food in my hometown forever.

Take your out of town visitors. First off Horchard who gave the place one star is an IDIOT! Velveta at a restaurant?! No wonder they looked at you like you were practically stupid. Chile con queso is not authentic Mexican food and if you think it is please take yourself back to your obviously midwest or eastern part of our United States, we dont really need your closed minded viewpoints here. The food is great, prices are right, security ( I think it was) in the parking lot is super. The staff is not necessiarly nice but that is much better than fake and phoney, and you dont go lacking for anything.

Best mexican food in tucson! Truely authentic... get there early for faster seating, excellent margaritas!!. This is the spot to be after a night out with friends or family. Your more then likely to see someone you know! The food tastes home cooked, it definitly is not something you will find anywhere else. The tacos and chili rellenos are to die for. And plus the prices are pocket friendly.. even the waiters are authentic. You may just get one that speaks only broken english. The resaurant has a story to tell, its a feast for the eyes and tummy! I have since left Tucson but yet still find myself craving Mi Nidito (my little nest) Jimmy works hard to remember his loyal customers and treats all very fair. You won't find service like that of Mi Nidito anywhere else.

Great Service, Good Food, Decent Prices.... Mi Nidito was a place we checked out with our family when we moved here a week ago. The food was great and the prices were reasonable, much lower than some of the other places in town! Truly authentic Sonoran food, I had the Presidents Plate, which is a mound of just about everything, Chile Relleno, Enchilada, Tamale, Tostada, and a Taco. I couldn't finish it all, but everyone was pleasantly suprised with what we ate and the prices, the service was great, we were treated like we had been regulars for years, and were seated in about 45 minutes, even with a party of 8...highly recommend!
