Tucson >Ironwood Apartments
A great place to call home- if your budget is top priority!.
After living in this small complex for over 3 years I can definitely say that it is a GREAT place to live- for the most part. There are MANY "CONS" that accompany and outweigh the "PROS" of living at IRONWOOD; however, it would take VERY LITTLE effort, money and actual manpower to rectify the negative aspects of living in this small, residential community.
Direct & personal attention from management, prompt responses to individual maintenance requests, the overall cleanliness of the property, the swimming pool/hot tub are well maintained; the laundry facilities are reasonably priced and centrally located. Management is friendly, responsive, and readily available Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm. And, an after-hours call for emergency maintenance will bring a swift response.
Although children of any age are permitted, Ironwood is not welcoming, equipped for, nor is it CHILD FRIENDLY. Management forbids playing in common areas; the front lawn is often strewn with pet waste and the small playground is in dangerous disrepair. I asked when it would be repaired for minimal safety & I was informed that it will be torn down to make room for more parking.
PARKING IS UNACCEPTABLE!! It is not covered, not assigned & there are not enough spaces.
Management does NOT enforce thier parking rules (i.e. mandatory parking stickers for residents & "those without issued parking stickers will be towed..." ) In fact, most often, the guests occupy more parking spaces than the residents.
Overall, Ironwood is very clean, safe and energy efficient; those who are budget conscious should check it out.
