Well I Love Casa Molina !. The atmosphere is second to none at Casa Molina. I absolutely drink in the sights and sounds of this happy place. The food is excellent and we do request the hot salsa. The servings are so generous and the staff seems very quick on their feet. I enjoy every moment!

Very disappointing. Service wasn't good. Party of 9 and we had to seat ourselves. No waiter/hostess to be found. There were only 2 other tables in the house -- where were they? We had to get our own menus too. Horrible.

Food wasn't good. Salsa tasted like watered down ketchup. Maybe since we are white they figured we can't have hot stuff?

My tamale was still frozen inside. Now that's fresh....

I would not go back to dine in. But oddly, their catering service is really good. Go figure.

Lard is dead, long live Canola oil! Cooking methods aside, this remains a classic Sonoran restaurant.. The Scene:
Founded in 1947, this Sonoran eatery has proven itself one of the city's real veterans. Just look for the big black bull and matador statue marking the entrance to the restaurant's three dining rooms and popular outdoor patio. The Virgin of Guadalupe watches over diners served by traditionally dressed staff under the saguaro rib roof.

The Food

The chimichangas are a bit skinny, but everything else is amply proportioned. Start with a pan of cheese crisps, crunchy, fried tortillas smothered in cheddar and topped with green chiles. Meat lovers must order the smoky carne seca. The mouth-watering meat fills tacos, tostadas and enchiladas. Combination plates give a little of everything: a vegetarian combo includes a golden chile relleno and cheese enchilada accompanied by a tostada and refried beans. A handmade strawberry margarita finishes the meal perfectly.

Since 1947. Nothing beats a mansoon on the patio at Casa Molina. Margaritas and a carne seca Loca. Those who know, go. And the original on the east side rules the planet. Hail chicken mole!
