The Scene – You've driven past the building that looks like it's on fire. Ever wonder what was behind those eye-catching flames? Tucson restaurateur Bob McMahon's experiment in Asian cuisine feels like Hong Kong reinvented for the new millennium: Khaki-clad waiters, sleek dark accents and palm-frond ceiling fans bring a modern Chinese feel to Plaza Palomino. – – The Food – Order something with sauce. Had a bad experience

by reneejackson

Our water was never refilled, server dissappeared for large quantities of time, and the meal was nothing to brag about. The chicken I ordered tasted like a big chicken nugget from the freezer...very dissappointing after hearing goods things about this restaurant. The greeting at the door was nice and the burger my friend order was good.

  • Pros: inside of restaurant very nice
  • Cons: bad server, bad food

romantic atmosphere

by val45

This place is great for a nice night out in Tucson. The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing meal, and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the thai chicken- so delicious! For a very filling two hour meal, we had an appetizer, glasses of wine, two entrees, shared a dessert, and a couple of after dinner drinks- all for about $75. We had no troubles with service or bland-tasting food, as suggested by other reviews. I would go back to the Firecracker in a heartbeat.

great food

by cruelsummer28

This place is really really great. It has an awesome bar and its very romantic. The food is 5 star quality but its not overpriced. My favorite appatizer is the fried cream cheese puffs, omg they're fabulous.

  • Pros: the food is excellent
  • Cons: there might be a wait on a busy night

Cr?me de la Cr?me:

For dessert, go for the coconut cr?me brulee. Even the sparkler can't keep the house signature Bananas Firecracker from fizzling out.

Belly Up to the Bar:

On the patio or indoors in a black booth, Firecracker's bar is a good choice for a stylish afternoon or after-work drink.
