This upscale restaurant puts a gourmet twist on tradition with its experimental Chinese cuisine.. The Scene
Lotus Garden isn't your average chop suey joint. Clothed in contemporary mauve and lavender, this is a gourmet restaurant that happens to specialize in Chinese rather than French or Continental cuisine.

The Food
Lotus Garden's menu draws from both China's Szechuan region, noted for intensely spicy cuisine, and the Canton region, known for light sauces. The results of this culinary cross-pollination are dishes worthy of the trendiest bistros. Unexpected ingredients like walnuts and honey appear, as do food-fad favorites like spicy lobster and steamed Chilean sea bass in parchment with scallions, ginger and soy. Of course, there are also standards like sweet and sour chicken, lo mein and fried wonton. Everything is delicious.

Dish to Die For
The butterfly shrimp sauteed in honey and cream sauce with walnuts are surprisingly divine.
