Joe's special is the BEST pasta dish around! We love Mama Louisa's homemade pasta and sauce.
Delicious Italian Food!. I have been a longtime loyal customer of Mama Louisa's for 12 years now! In fact, Mama Louisa's was a weekly date night of my husband's and mine when we were dating. Every week we would go there, and of course I had my favorite dish I would order almost every time, their Fettuccine Alfredo and of course can't forget their delicious salad bar! I absolutely love Fettuccine Alfredo and have searched restaurants all over to find good Alfredo and by far, Mama Louisa's is the best. There are so many more fantastic meals I have tried over the years including their Manicotti, Lasagna...Mmm-truly the best! And then of course with their mouth watering bread sticks that are 100 times better than Olive Garden, Mama Louisa's is an excellent choice for quality Italian dinning!
Best EVER Eggplant Parmesan!.
We only come to Tucson for the Gem Show in Jan/ Feb. We have fallen in love with Mama Louisa's eggplant Parmesan and have been trying for the past year to find a restaurant in Denver that even comes close -- no luck! We've tried 7 or 8 restaurants and no one else can do it! YOU HAVE TO TRY IT!
And if you don't happen to like that particular dish, you need to try the Italian wedding soup, or Joe's special, or . . . so far we haven't found anything there that isn't excellent!
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!.
FOOD IS EXCELLENT. MY 18 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HAS BEEN EATING THERE FOR 19 YEARS. SHE JUST DOESN'T REMEMBER BECAUSE MY WIFE WAS PREGNANT WITH HER WHEN SHE HAD HER ONCE A WEEK CRAVING!
THE FOOD IS STILL WONDERFUL, WE DON'T VISIT AS MUCH BECAUSE OF OUR RELOCATION.
JOES SPECIAL IS STILL THE FAVORITE DISH!
WELL WORTH THE TRIP.
Mixed Bag.
My first message here and The good thing about this place is that the salad bar was fresh and well done. Breadstick were also good, but never got the requested butter after 3 tries. I had a very overdone veal marsala and the fettucine was tough. Never had tough veal ever and this was the first time someone had fried the veal in batter! YUCK. Mushrooms were canned and tasted it, even through the salty sauce. The minestrone was a bit thicker than I like, but the taste was fine. Partner had veal parmagina. Big note- they have an "early bird" price- get salad bar and soup and the portions are much smaller. This piece of veal was really small and not worth the price.Sauce on the veal was flat, not taste at all, no mozerella and the pasta- well, not worth mentioning.
Service- as a former restaurant owner and chef- none of them would work for me- inattentive, slow-liked to watch the TV in the bar and eating while working are all big no no's. Too much chatting with each other and they let guests wait!
We've been here 2 years and have found1 Italian place I where I will my money . I've eaten in New York, Philly, Boston and Providence and only 1 comes close. Between the sun and hot chili peppers, Tucsonons have fried palates
Great food,great service.
I've been eating at "Mama's" since 1972 and cannot find a better home cooked Italian meal.
I'm partial to "Joe's Speacial", Lots of garlic and red peppers.
Avoid this place.
Worst meal I have ever had. The pasta was cold, and slimy. The Alfredo sauce tasted like it was made from bad cream. Service was even worse. Slow, and Rude!
Avoid this restaurant !!!!!!
50 years and they still can't get it right!.
If thease people have been in business for 50 years, how do they manage to make the the worst Italian food we ever ate!!!!
The alfredo sauce was runny, the clams were fishy and the noodles tasted like top ramen. The service was slow and waiter could hardly be bothered!!! The best thing about this place was the bread sticks, but don't ask for butter you may never get it!!!!
I would pass this up if I were looking for good Italian food!
Very disappointed. Slow service, disappointing food, I'd rather get a pizza delivered to the house from Pizza Hut.
nothing better. This is by far one of the best italian restaurants to eat in america. They make some of there pasta homemade. There food is absoloutly amazing. There is something there for everyone. Whether its there freah and delicious salad bar to there multitude of homemade family recipes, this place is sure to please.
