It's good food but nothing special and kinda pricey when you look at the surroundings and service. I would eat there again, but if there is a line, I would leave.
Best hot dog since I've been here........

Im from Yuma, Az. I moved to Sierra Vista where there is no place for great Authentic Mexican food. Being from Yuma there is just about a Taco or Hot dog stand anywhere. This Resturant is a must stop if you are in the Tucson area. They even have authentic Mexican soda there. Great variety of food and extras.
Worth a trip to Tucson

I eat Mexican food all over North America. El Guero Canelo is the REAL DEAL. Abundant, hot, fresh and delicious. I ate the Burro (no little burrito in this place) and it was great. There is a salsa bar that has freshly cut up cucumbers, radishes, limes, and onion along with various salsas and pico de gallo. Excellent.
The price was right, the place is clean. You eat outside on tables. There are mariaches on the weekends.
We went to this restaurant due to the review in CitySearch: Right on!
Worth a trip. I added it to my very restrictive list of "favorites."
- Pros: Just great food for the price.
- Cons: If you want a beer, you won't get it here.
Exceptional Sonoran Hot Dogs!
by scottferg at Citysearch
I just returned back from my first visit to Tucson. El Guero Canelo was one of the places that I had researched to try - in attempts of experiencing some of the local food. As much as I tried not to hype up the visit to El Guero Canelo, I couldn't help it - especially since my girlfriend and I enjoy hot dogs much more than the average person. The Sonoran hot dogs were incredibly tasty. Every bite was simply divine and beyond enjoyable. The Mexican Coca-Cola was also a nice taste. Additionally I tried the bottled sangria (but didn't realize that it was non-alcoholic) and had a bite of a soft taco, which was also very tasty. This is a place that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get off the beaten path and enjoy something savory. If I find myself back in Tucson in the future, you better believe that I'll find myself back at El Guero Canelo!
- Pros: Taste of food and value of food for the money
- Cons: Parking lot was full
