I moved to Tucson 4 years ago, and Gadabout is by far the best salon in tucson!

Maybe, maybe not. A professional cosmetologists views.. I have never been to the salon, but as far as the last posting with the lady complaining - I am a professional cosmetologis and I have been licensed for 4 years. Wella is a professional brand. It depends on waht sub type of Wella that is used. If it is Wella Color Charm - yes, you can get that at sallys. its semi professional. If it is Wella Koleston - No, you cannot get that at Sallys. I have used wella products, and depends on the hair type sometimes it does fade quickly - but about 95% of the time it holds. If your not happy with wella products ask them if they have another brand they can use. Most salons have atleast 2 different brands of color. We used to have Clairol and Wella. (and I have worked for both private and chain salons). That is my 2 cents. dont base your opinnion on a place from a few people who complain about a place - of corse that people who were dissatisfied will go and tell everyone who will listen - there is a reason this place is still in business doing what it is doing and charging the prices they are. Maybe the stylist didn;t measure correctly and used too much developer and thats why it faded. of maybe even the wrong volume. I know I personally dont use the standard 20 vol on my hair, it fades too quickly. I use 10 vol.

IT'S NOT WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT!!!. I am from out-of-state and I've always had a great experience when getting my hair done! My mom is a cosmotologist and because of that, I am slightly more aware and educated in the quality of service and products that are used in this industry. With that said...I tried Gadabout because this place is "SUPPOSEDLY" great! However, I have NOT had a good experience with this place at all. I had utilized Gadabout for just about every service they offer, from getting a massage, to getting my eyes waxed, and getting highlights with cut. All of the services are TERRIBLE!

First of all, the color Gadabout uses is called, Wella, which for those of you who do not know this...you can purchase Wella at your local SALLY'S Beauty Supply store! Which means...WELLA IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL BRAND! The color always fadded within three weeks! In addition to this, come to find out I was being charged for a full high-light and in fact only half of my hair was high-lighted....which to this day I am still TICKED-OFF! As far as the hair-cut goes...needless to say..."THEY DO NOT BLEND YOUR LAYERS... AND IT LOOKS VERY CHOPPY!"

For those of you ladies who splurge on getting your eyes waxed...BEWARE! I got my eyes waxed there and it is 5 months later...and I am still trying to get them back to normal. My eyebrows were very uneven and completely BUTCHERED!

Lastly, the massage service was well...CRAPPY! It is over-priced and a complete waste of money!

As a whole, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! I WAS TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND THE MONEY I SPENT THERE WAS ABOSULTLEY INSANE FOR THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM AND QUALTITY OF SERVICE THEY PROVIDE!

TRUST ME ON THIS ONE...I WOULD RECOMMEND EITHER TONI & GUY OR POSSIBLY ONE OF THE OTHER LOCAL SALONS PRIOR TO GETTING HOAXED BY THIS "SUPPOSEDLY" GREAT SALON!

Best Salon Spa in Tucson!. I just moved to tucson and was looking for a great place to get my hair done. I am very big on my experience in a salon and Gadabout exeeded my expectations. The employees at the front desk were very knowledgable and welcoming. My hair stylist was very informative on how to take care of my hair and different products to use. My favorite part is the wet lounge where they sit you down in a dimmed room to wash your hair as you watch a video of beaches on a televsion above while listening to relaxing music. I felt like I was recieving a spa service! All the employees are very knowlegable. I asked the stylist about their education, and they said that after beauty school the recieve training as interns for 1+ year through gadabouts education program. Very impressive. I also got my eyebrows waxed and love them! Very resonable prices for the experience you get. I had a great experience and this is now the only place I will go in Tucson!

Some Good Some bad. Waxing services are exceptional at both the Oracle and River Rd locations. Waxing prices are reasonable and the staff is very professional. I am a repeat customer.

I had just moved from Chicago and went to Gadabout in Oct. 2007, Oraclel location, for the first time to receive higlight and color services. When scheudling my appt I asked for the most experienced colorist. I arrived with my color formula in hand. The colorist asked "what are we doing today". Told her the process my previous colorist used and the list of materials. The colorist replied, "we don't use that product here and we don't use that process", while looking at my hair with a snear. I asked if she could find color within her product line or recommend something comparable. She then stated "I can't say it will match closely, I can't tell unitl we actually put our product on your hair'. I said no thank you and left the salon. I then called the manager and she scheudled me with their "top colorist". To make a long story short it took 3 visits to this so called "top colorist" to get my hair to a color and highlight minimally close to what I asked for. Also the prices for hair services are way overpriced for Tucson, much more than what I'm charged in Chicago. I then went to Metropolis for my next color highlight. Their salon did not use the products of my previous Chicago salon. Courtney, colorist, was able to match my previous color/highlights without a problem. I was extremely happy and not over charged. I have been back since and always pleased.

Great service at a great location. I was looking for a salon in Tucson to have my first bikini wax and came across this Gadabout location. The building was beautiful with a water fall wall and earth tone colors in the lobby-it was very calming. There are hair and nail stations and separate rooms in the back for waxing and other services. My appointment was at 9 AM and thankfully my esthetician was on time. Since it was my first time, she kindly explained the procedures to me and was patient with my questions. I'll definitely go back!

Cookie-cutter. I heard that Gadabout makes their stylists go through a year/+ of training before they are allowed appointments to ensure they "do hair the Gadabout way". It shows. Everyone that leaves the salon looks the same.

This is the place to go if you live in a track-home and want to look like both of your neighbors.

If you don't want to look like your neighbors, find another salon.

Favorite NW Tucson Salon. From the moment you walk into Gadabout Salon, you know that this is not your ordinary spa. The decor is grand, the waiting room is comfortable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The stylists and estheticians are friendly and offer the best service in town. Pricing is affordable for the most part, especially in a town where the salon/spa industry is very competitive. Nothing compares to the experience one receives at Gadabout on Oracle.
