HORRIBLE !. The customer service here is HORRIBLE. The night "Manager" on thursdays is very unprofessional and rude. He could not manage the crowd of people coming, people were seated and waited over an hour for food. Many people left without eating due to the wait. I saw one girl go to the kitchen and get her own pitcher of iced tea since no waiters were coming around. One group did not pay because they said the food was horrible. We had our drinks and chips, then we left after waiting an hour. The waiter explained the cooks lost our order. After complaining to the so called manager, he basically told whoever wasnt going to pay, "if you dont like it , leave." So we did and will never return to this place again! The menu is overpriced and the drinks are watered down. If your new to tucson and want a good place to eat, check out Guillermos (awsome red chili chimichangas) or El Minidito. Cheaper, better food, and excellent service.

Pleasant atmosphere. If you like Sonoran style food this is one of the best. The atmosphere is excellent but the food is bland as all get out, which is the case with all Sonoran food, in my opinion. I like pungent (spicy) food and although the staff made every attempt to accomodate my taste for spicy mexican food they did not.

Friendly and pleasant dining and although the Sonoran style of mexican food is not my preference I do recommend this restaurant for the ambiance.

Although the style of food is not my favorite I am a repeat customer becasue the food is one of the best in Tucson and the staff is exceptionally accomodating.

Four generations of loving care go into authentic Sonoran-style dishes found inside this old adobe in the barrio.. The Scene


A cozy old adobe house nestled between the Tucson Convention Center and the historic buildings of the old barrio has been the place for consistently delicious fare since 1936. A traditional Mexican decor with a satillo tiled floor and soft pink walls add to the authenticity. On Friday and Saturday nights, mariachis stroll through the restaurant and serenade diners.



The Food


You can't go wrong with the carne seca, possibly the most popular filling for tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas and burritos. The beef is sliced, dried and perfectly seasoned. The process yields an unbelievably flavorful dish. Ground and shredded beef, chicken, green and red chili are also available. Vegetarian? The savory chiles rellenos are green chilis stuffed with colby and jack cheese, dipped in batter and fried to a golden hue. They're then topped with tasty tomato sauce.
