If you are a goth, punk, neo-hippie or other eccentric living in Tucson, chances are you spend a large amount of your time downtown at Cafe Quebec. This is a rites-of-passage kind of place, where generations of artsy types have pondered the plight of the human condition over a steaming cup of coffee. The crowd isn't all angst-filled teens; there are neighborhood artists and dedicated regulars who slip into "their" table and hold court. An adjoining patio offers outdoor ambience and smoking space, while sun-fearing patrons can take safe refuge in the cafe proper.

The Food The coffee is great, but Quebec also offers an array of vegetarian and light meals at very reasonable prices. On the menu are homemade soups, vegetarian burritos, hummus, tabbouleh, cheese crisps, and spinach lasagna. Omelets are available to order before 11am.
