The Vail Steak House Cafe & Diner is
one of my favorite restaurants. I eat there several times a week with my family. I have always had a good experience there and think the food is great. I've had delicious omelettes with real home friend potatoes at breakfast, luv the triple deckers at lunch and have had good cuts of juicy, well-cooked steak for dinner. It is nice to see a family-owned restaurant surviving in this economy. There are so few of them today. They give you a lot of food at a great price.

Worst steak I have ever had.
Rib eye that was so tuff it was difficult to cut. This restaurant and its new owners need to go by the wayside. Vail Steak house was once a wonderful place to eat but no more. The owner actually had the balls to give us $1/per steak off our bill!!! That is like a slap in the face. We left over half the steak on our plates. The owner yelled at the cook, but it wasnt the cooking, it was poor meat. The waitress was great, but we will never go back and will discourage others from doing so as well. We probably would have given them another chance had they been fair on this poor meal, but the foreign owner doesnt care about his customers.

Not happy.
This used to be my favorite place to go on a Friday night. When we fist moved to Vail in 2003 we had nothing to eat in the house so we started to drive and came upon this little Gem. They closed the restaurant for several years and reopened under new owners. Let me just say - I was not impressed. The food was super bland and not cooked as we asked. I was told I would get rolls with my dinner - twice - but they never showed up even after I asked for them. My husband couldn't eat his steak sandwich it was so raw. They over cooked and under seasoned my Salmon. Over all - not a good first impression. They ruined my favorite restaurant.
